It allows fast importing and labelling of photos, gives you multiple viewing options of the imported photos, and then has advanced search and sort tools for finding them later, be they offline or in the cloud. It is also great for sharing your photos, online - directly to Flickr, other services, or to your webserver - and with friends and family via slideshows, or creation of a video collage.

Lightroom 3 also incorporates photo correction and creative modification features, and thus can be used to make photos better or brilliant.
